We are a proud member of our local NACE (National Association for Catering & Events) Chapter, and were thrilled when they announced the 2nd Annual NACEYs this year.  The NACEYs is an awards event that recognizes the best of the best in the local event & catering industry.  One of the most exciting portions of the night is the tabletop design competition, where competitors set a tablescape for attendees to view first hand!  Being a visual display company at our core, we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show off some of our great vintage rental items by incorporating them into a funky, off-kilter tabletop design.

We started with a Pinterest board, where we collected ideas and gathered visual inspiration – from there, things came together rather quickly!  We loved the idea of a three dimensional moss runner and bringing faux taxidermy into the mix, with a pop of color somewhere along the way.

Here’s a little behind the scenes peek at us putting it all together: 

The base was our Five Foot Wooden Farm Table and White Mismatched Chairs. We then placed strips of gold fabric down the center and began building a floral foam shape for the moss to cover.

 

 

We then laid the moss over the floral foam, securing with pins. We used a couple different types of moss for some variety.

 

 

Once the moss was complete, we assembled the cardboard deer bust, and situated it in the center of the table.

 

 

We then added the details: feathers (both plain & gold-dipped), place settings, orange escort card holders, and of course, a little gold jewelry for our dear deer.
